 Email Stripper

Do people send you jokes and funnies? I'm sure they do and you send them on to someone else.

When you receive one, most of the time you'll see the 50 or so other people they have also sent it to, and your joke in the body of the email will have carets -- those <<<<<  or >>>>> all over the place, and when you forward it on, you just add another layer of carets and so will the next person.  You can stop that SO easily by using EmailStripper.

Simply copy the joke, complete with carets, then paste it into t
he screen of EmailStripper, hit the button and poof!  No more carets! You have a clean copy of the joke (or whatever). Just paste it, now, into a clean email and send it on to whomeover you please .. caretless -- and without the loads of people's names in the prior email. What a refreshing thought!

 Irfanview

If you sell on eBay, you need an image editor and Irfanview is what
I use and I love it. It can enhance your pictures, so even if your picture turns out bad, it can help.

There are so many features, I can't imagine why you'd want to use anything else.  Not only is it FREE, but I am giving you a download place for a tutorial so you can get the most out of it.

It has a paint option to draw lines, circle, arrows, straighten an image, crop, lighten, darken, change the colors, sharpen, blur, filters; saves in many formats (tiff, jpg, jpeg, and more) -- just too many options to mention here. I've been using this for years myself, and it's great!

Download it now!

Free Cellphone 411 Info  (or any phone)

Picture yourself in your car somewhere, and you're wondering what time the store opens where you plan to shop. Or maybe you're having some car problems and you need to call your insurance company or a tow truck. You have a cell phone, but  no phone book in the car. Sure, you can call information, but on most phones, it's going to cost you $1.25 and up per call or per minute, even if you have already paid for minutes. Doesn't seem quite right, does it?

You have another answer. Program one or all of these numbers into your phone, and calling information will only cost you the regular minutes on your phone (or nothing if you have unlimited minutes). No extra minutes; no having to call a friend and asking him/her to look up the number for you; no having to buy an expensive ipod or any other device -- just a simple free phone number -- dial it, and you get your number.

1-800-FREE-411 (1-800-373-3411) - Free directory assistance

1-800-GOOG-411 (1-800-466-4411) - Free directory assistance for business listings

1-800-YellowPages - (1-800-935-5697) AT&T's free directory assistance - You don't have to dial the last four numbers; the a-g-e-s. It's just easier to remember yellow pages instead of yellowp.

Just program these into your phone for easy reference.

ShortKeys Lite

I cannot say enough about this program. I love it, and I use it each and every day for various things. What can you do with it? Save time!

I began using it when I played online pool as a way of announcing tournaments - time, kind of tourney, and any details that players needed to know. Instead typing it in, which could take too much time, I had a Short Key that would write the entire message for me, and I had only to put in a key word and poof! there was my message. All I had to do each time for a new tourney is open it and change the tourney number or the kind of tourney and the rest was written for me.

Now that I no longer play online pool, my Short Keys is still in everyday use. Like most people, I get way too much email, but a lot of email are things I want to subscribe to. Instead of having to type out my whole name, email address or other info, I just type Jo/ and poof, their is my full email address (or what email address I want it to go to). When I post to Freebeezzz to advertise something I have for free, I just put NA/ and North Anderson, mall area is written in. (Not those exact letters, as you will see below, but I use that as an example).

You can type in one word and your whole name, street address, city and zip or any other addition will immediately be written. You can have up to 9 lines of text, (even more if you have the paid version.)

The free version allows you up to 15 keys, which is a good many. It says that after 30 days, it costs $19.95 to continue, but nothing happens. You can use it forever. However, I did buy a license because I use it constantly and have way over 15 different keys for use. I got my money's worth a long time ago.

If you'd like to try it, just go to:

http://www.shortkeys.com/lite.htm

There is a tutorial at:

http://yillant.esmartdesign.com/shortkeyslitetutorial.htm#

The tutorial maker there is also a pool player and uses Short Keys all the time. She created that for her league and I thank her very much for letting me use her tutorial!

A note:  I find that when making a short key, let's say you are going to name it "low" (without the parentheses).  Be sure when you name it to put a slash mark / after the name .. like low / .. then save as. The reason for this is that Short Keys is very sensitive.

If you are writing and type the word "allow", poof! Your short key kicks in and writes whatever message you wrote for "low". You don't want that happening! (because "low" is within the word "allow").  So, if you put a slash mark (/) after the word "low", it will only write the message when you put in low/. The slash mark makes a distinction. You can use other characters if you like, but I find the slash is easy to type and it's something I don't use all that often.  Also, when you type in your short key, you type low slash, then enter. Simple and no mistakes.

Once you've used this little gem, you will be using it a lot. Not a day goes by that I haven't used it at least once.
